Captain Strategy

Choosing the right captain is crucial – they earn DOUBLE points for all actions. Consider these factors:

  • Form: Select players on scoring streaks or recent strong performances
  • Match-up: Target games against weaker defensive teams or backup goalies
  • Position: Forwards typically score more points than defensemen, but elite offensive defensemen can be valuable
  • Playing Time: Ensure your captain is starting and likely to see significant ice time

Maximize Your Points

Study Match-ups

Analyze which teams have weak defenses or allow high shot volumes. Target players facing easier opponents.

Balance Your Budget

Don’t spend everything on stars. Mix premium players with value picks who have good match-ups.

Track Player Form

Recent performance matters. Players on hot streaks are more likely to continue scoring points.

Monitor Team News

Check injury reports and lineup announcements before finalizing your squad. A scratched star earns you nothing.

Diversify Your Lineup

Don’t load up on players from one team. Spread your picks across multiple games to minimize risk.

Use Live Stats

Track your players’ performance in real-time and learn which types of players consistently deliver.

Position-Specific Tips

Goalies

Goalies earn points primarily through saves and wins. Target goalies facing high‑volume shooting teams (more save opportunities) or weak offenses (win potential). A shutout can be a massive bonus.

Defensemen

Look for defensemen who quarterback power plays and contribute assists. Blocked shots and plus/minus also add value. Elite offensive defensemen can rival forwards in scoring.

Forwards

Forwards are your primary point‑getters through goals and assists. Centers often take faceoffs and get extra opportunities. Target players on top lines and power‑play units.
